“Rough & Peace” Gift for One Viewer

Did you enjoy the Oyako Day Online Talk Live with special guest Rica Matsumoto on Thursday, August 28?

It has been 30 years since Bruce and I first met Rica and her father, when we had the opportunity to photograph them together as parent and child. For a time, we lost touch, but about 10 years ago, we reached out again, hoping to feature their portrait on the cover of the photo book OYAKO.

Having Rica join us in today’s Talk Live truly feels like a “chain of miracles,” filling us with both gratitude and emotion.

If you haven’t seen the Talk Live yet, we warmly invite you to watch the archived stream.

To commemorate this occasion, Rica has kindly offered a signed copy of her essay collection Laugh & Peace, where she shares her thoughts and experiences, as a gift to one lucky viewer.

If you would like to apply, please send us an email with the subject line “Rough & Peace Application” and include your name and contact information to the following address:

We would also be delighted if you could include a message of support for Rica and the Oyako Day project. Your words will be a great encouragement to us. We look forward to receiving your applications!

In addition, Rica will be starring in and directing her special 40th anniversary stage performance Navigation, to be held at the Kanagawa Arts Theatre from September 12–14. Don’t miss it!
