Oyako Day is a gift to the future, nurtured by all of us!
~ Present to the future~
Oyako Day 2026, celebrating its 24th year, will be held on Sunday, July 26!
What if there were one day each year when parents and children could pause and truly connect with one another?
A day that helps strengthen the bonds shared by families everywhere.
Inspired by this vision, photographer Bruce Osborn founded Oyako Day in 2003.
Our daughter is now a year and a half old. Looking back, what I feel most deeply these days is an overwhelming sense of gratitude toward her.
I went to see Michael, the biographical film about Michael Jackson. The lead role is played by his real-life nephew, Jaafar Jackson. Some people say they could have simply used archival footage of Michael himself, but this was a completely different kind of experience. At first, I thought, “Hmm, he doesn’t really look like him.” But as the story went on, he gradually became Michael.
Photojournalist Shisei Kuwabara has received the 76th Kumanichi Award. We extend our heartfelt congratulations.
Ryouichi Yuki, President of Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura and known as “Shogun,” joins the 47th Oyako Day Online Talk Live to explore culture as a living legacy for future generations.
Bruce Osborn’s Once Upon a Time begins on note, tracing his journey from 1980s Japan to Oyako Day.
What if the Soviet Union had been the first to land on the Moon?
The story begins with a single point of divergence.
Set in an alternate timeline where a Soviet cosmonaut steps onto the lunar surface before Apollo 11 arrives in 1969, For All Mankind is Apple TV+’s epic science-fiction drama exploring how history might have unfolded if the Space Race had never ended.
