Our connection with Kudamatsu City<\/strong> in Yamaguchi Prefecture<\/strong> began when it served as one of the filming locations for OYAKO<\/strong>, the film produced to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Oyako Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time, then-Mayor Shigemasa Ikawa<\/strong> wholeheartedly embraced the vision of Oyako Day<\/strong>. Thanks to his enthusiastic support, that shared vision became a reality with the establishment of Kudamatsu Oyako Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even after Mayor Ikawa\u2014who was widely known as Japan\u2019s oldest serving mayor<\/strong>\u2014was succeeded by Masuo Kunii<\/strong>in April 2016, Kudamatsu Oyako Day<\/strong> has continued to be celebrated every year as a special occasion for local residents to reflect on and strengthen the bonds between parents and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is deeply encouraging to see how a connection that began with a single film has taken root in the community and continues to be carried forward through the dedication and goodwill of so many people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
