The morning after arriving at the ryokan, father and son head off for a morning walk.

My husband's so busy, it'd been a while since he'd had time for a bath with our son. Our son's always loved making balloons out of handkerchiefs in the tub and tonight too, it was at the center of the program, with all the same joy as ever.

There are six in our family. Usually, we all sleep scattered helter-skelter across the bedding, but on this day everyone was in a line. It looks like someone did slip off the bed though.

At Kochia Hill in the Hitachi Seaside Park, I thought I'd try to stand my daughter on my hand for a photo. She'd never done this kind of thing before, but she was a natural. So much so that the photograph looks like a composite.

A picture of my family holding a very similar picture we took 10 years earlier at a festival. Compared to the first photo, we're all just the same, still happy and healthy. It made me think about photography though, that it is really something wonderful.

In general, these two don't share that many activities, but nonetheless father has become the official nail clipper. As you can see, he takes this job very seriously. Our son, on the other hand, thinks it's a barrel of fun.

Under the trees and talking so happily. It was terribly hot out, but they wouldn't let go of each other. I don't want to forget this moment, even when you're older, so I took a picture.

This son dazzled when his father throws his smiles into high beam. "This is the kind of adult I want to be!"

When it started to pour, our child was so happy that his mother couldn't put a halt to the fun. She just stood by and kept an eye on things. I saw only their smiling faces and a mother's care.
